Malware attack on Google Play Store once again, Avoid such applications

If you use Android smartphones, then this news is yours. Google Play Store has been renamed to an app that has been deemed dangerous and Google has removed from the Play Store. But once again they are being delivered to the users. American Antivirus Company Symantec has discovered in its research that this miscellaneous app is now available on Google Play Store with the new publisher and new name. Their title has been kept so that it is left out of Google's eyes.


Avoid such apps

The name of this malware is Android.Reputation.1 which was first detected in the year 2014. This malware emoji keyboard is being transmitted to your smartphone via add-ons, calculator, call recorder and storage space cleaner.

Security report showcased

Symantec's principal software engineer Martin Zhang and technical product owner Shun Aimoto have posted a blog posting that Google Play App Store is the highest rated store from which secured Android apps can be downloaded. We have faced many such apps till date even today, which steals the data from the user's smartphone, but now the 7 sets of these apps have been made available with a new name after the removal by Google.

This way the user is harming the app

They start to suggest linking links to the ads and scams, they seem to click. After installing these apps, it monitors the device and after administering the Google Play icon, the admin inquires about the permit.

At the beginning of the month, Symantec had detected 38 Malaysian apps that were affected by Android.Reputation.1 Trojan on the Google Play Store. These included apps that showed information related to games and education. These apps were removing user's home screen icons.

Use these methods to avoid malware attacks
  • Researchers have instructed the users to keep the software update to avoid the malware attack.
  • The sites or companies whose name the user has never heard of before should not download their software. Only the apps of trustworthy publishers should be installed.
  • You must think once upon the arrival of the permissions of the app and if you have installed the app in an amateur manner then this request should be denied.
  • It has also been instructed to install the Mobile Security app.
